Director of Strategy
Prior to joining the Big Duck team in 2013, Ally worked at Sanctuary for Families in New York City, where she managed the communications and led fundraising efforts to expand their programs ensuring the safety and self-determination of LGBTQ, immigrant, and low-income victims of domestic violence and their families.
Her experience working in the nonprofit world and passion for progressive causes inspired Ally to pursue her Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from The New School, where she was a co-founder of the university’s first social innovation competition, and the recipient of the Dean’s Award. Ally is also a graduate of Emory University.
Ally loves learning about new cultures and people—which prompted her to pursue a fellowship with Social Ventures Hong Kong, and interview leaders from all walks of life as part of the PBS documentary series Roadtrip Nation.
When she’s not at Big Duck, you’ll find Ally in Jackson Heights, Queens where she lives, volunteering as a mentor with high-school aged youth, playing Mahjong to keep the Jewish tradition alive, and going on food adventures around Queens with her wife.
